EXECUTIVE OFFICER

I have had the privilege of working in the Community Services Sector for over 30 years. Holding Management Positions for much of that time. I have had the pleasure of working in Home and Community Care, Multicultural Services, Women’s Health and in Out of Home Care. I also spent some time teaching and mentoring future colleagues undertaking Community Services Studies at TAFE NSW.

As Executive Officer at BACC my work is very focused on supporting staff and resourcing our Management Committee in meeting our legislative and funding requirements and responsibilities.

PROGRAMS' MANAGER

I have had the opportunity to worked in a number of areas in the community services sector over the past 22 years. These have included Mobile playgroups, child protection, housing, parental mental health, and program management roles.  The knowledge, skills and experience that I have attained from this has been amazing and an honour to have work with so many individuals, families and organisations. I believe through the many roles and organisations that I have worked in it has provided me with a strong work ethic, an understanding on diverse roles and a passion to get the best outcomes for the people and the communities that I work in.

As BACC’s Programs’ Manager I work across a number of programs and projects, this is exciting and enjoyable to support and lead people through. I look forward to expanding and building more relationship in the communities that we work.

MICHELLE

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

My whole career has been in Customer Service and Administration. My role at BACC has evolved through the years and in addition to providing administrative support to the EO and the Senior Management Team I now work with all staff across the organisation to provide a wide range of supports from database creation to website content and development of promotional material.  

Working across all teams provides me the opportunity to better understand the needs of our community and play an active role in meeting some of those needs. Working with the BACC team as a collective to provide the highest quality of service has become an integral part of my role.

FINANCE OFFICER

I have completed an Accounting Diploma, an Advanced Certificate in Management and an Advanced Marketing Certificate. I live in Blacktown and have been doing accounting work for community organisations in and around the area for over 20 years. As BACC’s Finance Officer, I love working as part of the team and feel if I do my work well, we can utilise our funding to assist as many members of our community as possible.

COORDINATOR

I started at BACC directly after I completed my studies. Over the years I have gained a lot of experience working within the community sector and have really enjoyed working for an organisation that is guided by social justice principals and one which provides a wide range of accessible, inclusive and responsive programs.

As the Coordinator of the Community Programs’ Team, I am really excited about working on developing and delivering programs that support young children, families, and communities.  It is fantastic to see how these programs have given parents/carers the additional skills and knowledge to further assist in the development of their child/children. I really enjoy working with members of my team to ensure our programs, activities and events are linked to strong frameworks and are outcome focused.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

As a Community Development Officer, BACC has provided me with the opportunity to run parenting programs, building connections with community members and local organisations. It has also granted a chance for me to increase my skills and confidence with public speaking.

I am happy to be a part of an organisation that provides services to the area that I was raised in. I have years of knowledge and understanding of the local area bringing this into my role.

I am looking forward to continuing to get to know our community members and building relationships with them.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

As a Community Development Officer, BACC provides me with the opportunity to build relationships with individuals and families to offer information, support and assistance as required. I am pleased to be a part of an organisation that develops and delivers a wide range of supports for the Blacktown Community. I appreciate working closely with other organisations and actively participating in interagencies and networks so that I am able to refer individuals and families for additional support and assistance.

I am looking forward to extending the group work we currently offer and organising events and activities which will allow our community to connect.

Community Engagement Officer

As a Community Engagement Officer at BACC I am provided with the opportunity to facilitate various parenting programs and create training guidelines for each parenting programs for other staff to utilise.  I enjoy the opportunity this provides to mentoring and support new staff and students doing placements.

I also work with and support individuals and families with assisted referrals where I get to put them in touch with services that can meet the needs BACC can not.

The highlights of my work always centres around being able to offer friendly, inclusive spaces for everyone to meet up, mingle, make new friends and extend their social support networks.

COORDINATOR

I have a long history (20+ years) of working in the community services sector. These have included, domestic violence services, settlement services, children’s services and women’s health. I also had the opportunity to teach at TAFE which had been an ambition of mine for some time.

BACC provides me the opportunity to utilise the skills and knowledge I have picked up along the way. Of which, mentoring has been the most important. As Coordinator of the Youth Programs’ Team I value the opportunity to provide positive role modelling and ongoing support to staff to ensure all our activities, programs and events remain client centred and outcomes focused.

I have an unwavering passion for what we do at BACC, where it is always about the community. I remain committed to the organisation and the youth team in particular and work to ensure we remain being a part of the discussions and initiatives in the area.

YOUTH ENGAGEMENT OFFICER

I joined BACC after completing my Bachelor of Social Science and International Studies, putting all the theoretical knowledge into practice has been really eye opening and beneficial for me.  I really enjoy working with young people and appreciate the opportunities BACC provides to have conversations with them. These conversations help me to better understand young people, their needs and concerns. I look forward to developing programs that meet identified needs.

I also appreciate the work I do with other services. The opportunity to liase and collaborate on programs and events means is exciting.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

I have really enjoyed creating programs for our BACC School Engagement Program that greatly benefit young people through teaching them life skills and furthering their education beyond the school classroom as well as participating in many events that are truly built around celebrating and supporting young people.

I have a diploma in Community Services and begun my Bachelor's in Social Work and Criminal and Community Justice. I have also completed an extensive list of training through my work at BACC which allows me to serve our community. In my 6 years in the sector, I have been able to create great relationships with people in our community and other workers which assists in a wholistic approach when working with the community.

I am looking forward to developing and delivering youth led events which will provide opportunities to young people  who want to advocate or celebrate a particular issue or significant date.

YOUTH ENGAGEMENT OFFICER

During my employment with BACC I have developed and facilitated many sessions of our school engagement which has been developed and designed to provide high school students knowledge, skills and confidence in everyday life.

I am excited about growing our essential program (the provision of free school supplies and personal hygiene products). The success of this program is the result of donations from generous individuals and businesses in the Blacktown lga. I look forward to working collaboratively with our current donors and building new long term relationships with new donors as well.

I’m excited to continue my work with young people in ways that are significant and meaningful to them.

With over 20 years on the job experience working in the mobile childcare sector I bring a wealth of knowledge working within a challenging, often changing environment.  I always bring a critical eye to identifying and managing risks to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children we care for

During 2022 I developed a Roving Child Care information video that is now accessible through BACC’s YouTube channel.   To better support the CALD community, I am currently working on developing additional videos that will be translated into languages other than English.

I look forward to continually working with BACC to build strong relationships with our service users and partner organisations to provide a best practice service to families and their children.

In my opinion, every day at work is another chance to shine, and another opportunity to build on my skills that will benefit my professional life. I am continuing to learn, currently studying a Certificate IV in Education support.

I am a good communicator enjoying the interactions that I have with parents and children, eager to support parents and children with their needs, and to celebrate their achievements during my groups. All while bringing my patience, dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm into the early childcare team.

I completed my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and Bachelor in Information and Communications Technology before successfully gaining a position BACC as an Early Childhood Educator with Blacktown Roving Child Care. My understanding of the importance of the early years for children aged from birth to five helps me to support children and their families. I am excited about the work I will be doing to ensure children and their families are fully supported while attending our groups or activities.

In addition to my work at BACC I am also employed elsewhere. I enjoy being able to obtain two jobs that cross over from early childhood to primary aged children. I am pleased that I can bring the knowledge of being able to effectively work within a team and current knowledge of early childhood education and theory through my current studies to my work at BACC.  My experience of working with a wide age range of children, from birth to primary school age allows me to plan and program childcare sessions effectively, ensuring children are supported in the early years. 

I am excited to be the lead educator on groups and develop my experience supporting the community,  planning and delivering all childcare sessions from start to finish.  I am very much enjoying the opportunity to learn different ways to support the community I am working with.

I really enjoy being a part of the extended BACC team and take every opportunity available to work across all teams to serve our community. My understanding of child development, child protection, the 3a concepts of language, enriched care giving and incidental learning allows me opportunity to work within the Early Childhood Team most. In addition to providing quality childcare as a Blacktown Roving Childcare Educator, I actively promote our Paint Mt Druitt REaD Program whenever possible by introducing the new Rooby puppet to children and encouraging early literacy practices with caregivers.

I started my career with Blacktown Roving Childcare in 1997.  Being a mobile childcare service can bring many challenges, but for myself they have been mostly rewarding experiences. I am passionate about working at BACC  because they are an organisation guided by social justice principles. During all the past years it has been a pleasure working with all the teams who make up BACC.

 As a Roving Educator I have updated my studies on Early Childhood Development, Child Protection and First Aid and put theory and practice together.  As a qualified educator I can deliver effective, relevant, age appropriate programs including 3a, Abecedarian Approach Australia.   

I pride myself with the skills I have gained, and an extensive knowledge on how to best serve the community within the Blacktown L.G.A.   The Blacktown area is where I have lived for most of my life and I hope to be a part of the Early Childhood Program’s Team for many years to come to provide valuable support to parents, families, carers and children.

Over the 8 years I have been with BACC, I am pleased to say that I have had the opportunity to work with my colleagues as a collective to provide a best-practice service to families and their children.  I enjoy addressing the challenges that come with working in a roving childcare setting and identifying areas in which we need to grow and develop and what the barriers are to providing a best practice service to families and their children.

I am truly excited to work with children and their parents/carers.

After 10 years of being at BACC, I still enjoy learning new skills and approaches to improve the outcomes for the children and families I work with.  I really enjoy teaching children new concepts, organising activities and overall helping parents to have time for their own activities.
